40 holiday cards isn't enough

Today Keeri slap-dashed a holiday card together for friends and family.

We've talked about doing this for years. We even had a couple of good jump starts—some summary copy of our year in a Google doc, a few images in a shared folder. But we never put the whole package together.

And yet this year, in about four hours, we curated 9 pictures out of the thousand or so we took this year, wrote 200 words, chose a "it's not good, but it's not bad" template, bullied friends and family for their addresses in their most preferred messaging app, shoved it all together, and ended up with 40 fully stamped envelopes.

And we'll probably need another 20 envelopes.

Maybe 30.

To be honest, it doesn't matter. Walgreens will let us print however many we want.

But as I sit and look at this stack of little papers, it is interesting that I now have a physical manifestation of the care we've given each other over the years, in all its metaphorical shapes and sizes.

And there are a lot of you I am thankful to care about.
